Privacy Policy

Your information, handled with care.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy explains how Mituu Studio Inc. handles information through this website and enquiries sent to us. The person responsible for Mituu privacy enquiries can be reached at hello@mituustudio.com; please use “Privacy” in the subject line.

The website lets you browse the collection, choose pieces and prepare an email enquiry. It does not process payments, create customer accounts or collect newsletter subscriptions.

2. Information we handle

  • Shopping choices: items in your bag remain in the page’s memory and are cleared on reload. Currency and delivery-country choices can be saved on your device.
  • Welcome offer: an email address and studio-notes preference entered in the welcome form remain on your device while the form is open and are cleared on submission or closing. The form does not transmit these details to Mituu. Your device stores whether the offer was claimed or dismissed, including a dismissal timestamp.
  • Contact and bag enquiries: the contact form and bag enquiry link prepare an email on your device. Mituu receives the details you include, such as your name, reply address, selected pieces, optional order number, message and attachments, only when you send the email. Your email provider’s own handling also applies.
  • Country hint: the hosted site uses the hosting network’s approximate country information to suggest CAD or USD. The application receives a Canada/US country hint; it does not request GPS permission, expose your IP address to the page or save precise location.
  • Hosting and access: infrastructure providers may process IP addresses, browser or device details, request times and security or access logs to deliver and protect the site. Signing in to the hosting platform is governed by that platform’s privacy notice.

We do not ask for sensitive personal information. Please avoid sending payment-card details, identification documents or unnecessary personal information in a contact message.

3. Why we use information

We use relevant information to respond to enquiries, help with sizing, remember your chosen market and welcome-offer preferences, maintain the site and prevent misuse. Information you send about a product issue may be used to investigate the issue and communicate with you.

We limit collection and use to what is appropriate for these purposes. Where consent is required, we will explain the purpose and seek it at the relevant point. Browsing or contacting us does not give consent to promotional email.

4. Cookies, storage & tracking

Mituu’s website uses local storage for the currency, delivery country and welcome-offer preferences described above. These values remain on your device until cleared; the welcome reminder reads the dismissal date for 30 days, but the value itself does not automatically expire. The bag and unsent form entries are held in page memory. Hosting or sign-in providers may use cookies needed for access and security.

We do not use advertising pixels, behavioural advertising, embedded social feeds or third-party analytics on this website. Our photographs are hosted with the site; the Instagram link opens Instagram only when you choose it.

You can clear browser site data or use the button below to remove the Mituu preferences on this device. Blocking storage may affect remembered choices but does not prevent browsing. This action does not delete hosting records or an email you already sent.

The website does not change its behaviour in response to the older browser “Do Not Track” signal. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, so there is no such activity to opt out of through Global Privacy Control.

5. Service providers & disclosures

The website is hosted through ChatGPT Sites using Cloudflare infrastructure. Email enquiries pass through the email services used by you and Mituu. These services may process information necessary to provide hosting, security, authentication or communications; their own policies govern services you use directly.

We may disclose information where required or permitted by law, to address a safety issue, investigate fraud or protect legal rights, using no more information than reasonably necessary. A future business transfer would be handled under applicable privacy law with required safeguards and notice. Mituu does not rent or sell customer mailing lists.

6. Processing outside Canada

Hosting and communication services may process information outside Canada, including in the United States. Information processed abroad may be subject to the laws and lawful access requests of that jurisdiction. Mituu remains responsible for personal information under its control and will use appropriate contractual and organisational safeguards with its service providers.

Contact hello@mituustudio.com for questions about relevant providers or cross-border processing.

7. Retention & security

We retain enquiry information only as long as reasonably needed to respond, manage an issue, meet legal recordkeeping duties or resolve a dispute. We will delete or anonymise information when it is no longer needed, subject to lawful retention obligations. Device preferences are controlled as described above; Mituu does not keep a server copy of your bag.

We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information, including restricted access to private services. No website or email transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. If a breach of information under our control requires notice or reporting under applicable law, we will take the required steps.

8. Your choices & privacy rights

Email hello@mituustudio.com to ask what personal information Mituu holds about you, request access or correction, withdraw consent, request deletion where available, or raise a privacy concern. Depending on the law that applies, you may also have rights to a copy or portability, restrictions on certain uses, opt-out of sale, targeted advertising or profiling, and an appeal of a denied request.

We will verify identity using only what is reasonably necessary, respond within the applicable legal period and explain any lawful exception or extension. Canadian access requests are generally answered within 30 days, subject to permitted extensions. Deletion may not cover records we must keep for legal, safety or dispute purposes. We will not penalise you for exercising a protected right.

If an authorised agent may act for you under applicable law, we may request proof of authority. If an appeal is available, reply to our decision with “Privacy appeal” and explain your concern. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, a relevant provincial privacy regulator or your US state authority. These rights are subject to the scope and exceptions of the law that applies; this policy does not claim that every US state privacy statute applies to Mituu.

9. Messages & marketing

The welcome form does not create a mailing-list subscription or send a confirmation email. Sending an enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing emails. We use your enquiry details to respond to your message. Promotional emails require separate consent, sender identification and a way to unsubscribe.

10. Children, other websites & updates

The storefront is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent personal information to Mituu, contact us so we can address it.

External websites and services have their own privacy practices. We will date policy updates on this page and give additional notice or seek consent where a material change or a new use of information requires it. For an accessible copy of this policy or a privacy question, contact hello@mituustudio.com.
